With almost 31 000 students, circa 100 course offerings and 40 Institutes, the historic Technische Universität Berlin is one of Germany’s largest and most internationally renowned technical universities. Located in Germany’s capital city – at the heart of Europe – outstanding achievements in research and teaching, imparting skills to excellent graduates, and a modern service-oriented administration characterize TU Berlin. The range of services offered by our seven Faculties serves to forge a unique link between the natural and technical sciences on the one hand, and the planning, economics and social sciences and humanities on the other. This is indeed a significant achievement for any technical university. In our role as a leading research university, we also promote cooperation between science and industry, as amply demonstrated by the high volume of external funding we receive. The TU Berlin maintains official contacts with a number of renowned foreign universities on the basis of binding cooperation agreements.

Cairo Office

TU Berlin’s Cairo office is a liaison office to represent the university in the capital of Egypt and in the framework of the German Science Centre in Cairo (DWZ). It aims to promote TUB expanding activities in the field of sustainable development in the MENA region, especially the new Satellite Campus in El Gouna on the Red Sea in Egypt. The office is the prime contact for students and researchers in the region seeking cooperation with the TU Berlin. It informs interested students and researchers about studying and research opportunities at the TU Berlin and its Campus in El Gouna.

Campus El Gouna

Campus El Gouna was established to act as a scientific and academic field office of TU Berlin. We currently conduct three Master Degree Programs at the Campus – Energy Engineering, Water Engineering and Urban Development – which makes us the first German university to offer degree programs in Egypt with a curriculum that is subject to the provisions of German university legislation, both in terms of course content and structure. Further academic activities such as training courses, a doctoral program and additional Master Degree Programs are to be developed in the near future. Last but not least, the Campus offers great possibilities for science, and research & development.

Campus El Gouna is a public-private partnership (PPP) project which is unique in the field of education export. It was financed by TU Berlin alumnus Samih Sawiris and opened its doors in October 2012.
